Finding a Little Sunshine on a Sad Day

I am incredibly sad today and don't know what to do with myself. One of my grooms to be passed away yesterday from recently diagnosed cancer. He and his bride were to be married this August. He was 26. I am in shock. I can't focus on work. I just placed an album order and in the location that asked for the name on my credit card, I couldn't think straight to realize it was my name I needed to put in the box. I am a mess.

I need a little sunshine. In my quest to brighten my mood, I decided to spend some time with my boys this morning.

Cyndee and Bleu Elope in Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Just like when the hero gets the girl in a movie, but this was real life. Bleu and Cyndee were high school sweethearts, that found each other again a year ago. They always new, but could never get their timing right. They had perfect timing the night of their elopement. The photography is secondary when you get to witness this kind of love. It was just a sincerely beautiful moment!

California Wedding of Vinny and Heather

How cool is this place? The Long Branch Saloon in Half Moon Bay California. This was the site for the very fun and laid-back wedding of Vinny and Heather. This was the big reason for my trip to California. It was an incredible wedding and trip. We will be talking about it for a long time to come in our house. We indulged ourselves in family, friends, food and photography. What could be better? Thank you so much for bringing us home for a little while.

Trip to California-Arcata

We are at the half way point of a great trip to California. We of course love Maine, but are so happy to be visiting our former home seeing friends and family and taking in the sites. Our first stop was Arcata, Ca. and Humboldt State University. I visited the beginning photography students, the exact class that paved the way for my career. My approach to wedding photography is rooted here. It was an amazing experience to come full circle. We also spent time at our favorite beaches, Moonstone and Luffenholtz and went on one of our favorite hikes, Fern Canyon. These photographs don't do our experiences justice, but will keep the memories alive. Next stop, Santa Rosa, Ca.
